Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. {crib skirt}

so, back in my early second trimester, i really tried to decide on a nursery theme. i wanted to do the same for Scarlett that i did with Ava, which is keep the room to where she can grow into it. i didnt want anything super baby or cutesie. going for a modern look. i saw all of these yellow and gray rooms/nurseries... THAT was the winner. that's all i ever looked for after that.

the walls in the nursery were already yellow-ish, and they would be great to keep along with this theme, but once i get an idea in my head... it's a done deal. so the walls will be painted gray in a couple weeks (hopefully less).

the walls... look good. just not what i want. and i'm stubborn :) also, the duck painting is long-gone.
 ANYWHO...

i came upon this pin

DIY crib skirt? sounds easy enough... off to the hobby lobby i went!

and SCORE! 2 yards for under $10 is a win in my book!

if you looked at the pin, you'll see that she only did three sides. i would have done four, but definitely would have needed 3 yards. i decided that was ok, as the backside of the crib would never be seen anyway.

i'll let you go to her page to get the step-by-step instructions, because i'm the worst teacher ever.

sew sew sew. that's actually the easy part. cutting and pinning are THE. WORST.

only took me about 2-3 days, between my machine acting up, loosing pins, and just keeping track of my super energetic 3 year old, it just took a lot longer than normal. but i love the finished product!

my chevron crib sheet came from target. think it goes well together. and remember to picture gray walls. maybe a faux-fur white rug infront of or under the crib...

:)
 that's what came about. if you plan on being crafty and sewing a crib skirt, i highly recommend that blog. was very easy to understand.

i'll leave you with these...

left: me     right: ava
just like her mama.

never a dull moment. i cant believe i'm about to have two of these gorgeous beings in my life. and they're all MINE!!
