dinner and giveaway! :)

helloooo blog world! been a couple days. not much going on around here. sick baby girl due to the weather changes. wish it would already pick a side. it's 50 degrees in the morning and nearly 80 around 3pm. it's been taking a toll on my toddler. :(   but we're getting through it!

we're excited that halloween coming!! (mostly me so i can steal all the chocolate from ava's goodie bag, shhh!). friday at ihop they are giving away one free scary pancake to children 12 and under. so i'll definitely be taking advantage of THAT! we did this last year and ava loved it. so i think at 2 she will be even MORE thrilled! candy on pancakes, what's not to love?

last night was a scramble, i tried to make dinner before the husband had to leave for school and just didnt make it. but i looooved what turned out and he loved it when he got back home. i made a cheesy chicken and rice bake with a southwestern twist. click here for the recipe.

i actually didnt have any salsa so i put in some diced tomatoes and spiced with creole seasoning, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin. sooo good!! definitely on the favorite casserole list now.

after dinner i made some peanut butter cookies. ava and i had a fair share before the husband came home and ate nearly all of them. (they ARE his grandmothers peanut butter cookies, and he misses her dearly, so i like to do that for him once in a while).

so that's that. i also just checked out Julie's blog at The Girl in the Red Shoes .she posted about a scentsy giveaway, and i am SUPER excited about it! i just bought a febreze candle and it lasted maybe 4 days. i always have a candle burning or plug ins.. plugged in. these sound so amazing. you should jump over there and enter! winner is announced on halloween. that's a great treat!
